A couple decades ago I built a record shop in my city. I started it due to my my obsession with various musical genres. My significant other proposed that maybe I should start a business. I think she just wanted all those records out of our house. I did this for many years but about four years ago I decided running a small business was becoming a hassle. I started to look into ways of selling my record store. The decision was hard but actually selling it was even more difficult.

I tried to hire an outside business broker/adviser to sell the business for me. First off, I didn't want to sell to a big, souless, and national company. I hoped the new owner wouldn't change too much. Thankfully, the home improvement franchise Detroit MI said he'd try to fulfill my yearning.

Now that it's not my record store I still stop by to look for vinyl. I'm always happy to see the interesting music, but dismally it's caused my own vinyl collection to balloon once again. I hope I'll keep my collection to my myself this time.
